TURK201-Turkish for Foreigners III

TURK 201 course, which is planned as a continuation of TURK 102, is designed to correspond to A2.1 level. Within the scope of TURK 201 course, students will learn some tense structures, exchange and order structures, culture-related words and sentence structures in Turkish.

TURK202 - Turkish for Foreigners IV

TURK 202, which is planned as a continuation of the compulsory TURK 201 course, is designed to correspond to A2.2 level. Within the scope of TURK 202 course, students will learn some tense structures, prediction and certainty expressions, some complex sentence structures in Turkish. Students who are successful at the end of the semester will have A2 level Turkish knowledge.

TURK101 - Turkish for Foreigners I

This course is a compulsory course for students who will learn Turkish as a foreign language. The main aim of the course is to develop the four basic language skills specified in the CEFR; reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in an academic framework and to ensure that students maintain these skills in their departmental studies. In this course, students will work on understanding easy words and common phrases, when spoken slowly and clearly, on topics related to themselves, their families, their concrete and immediate surroundings. Students will work on their understanding of common names, words and basic sentences in written names, posters and catalogs.

TURK102- Turkish for Foreigners II

In this lesson, students will practice activities that will contribute to their ability to form simple phrases and sentences when participating in a conversation or expressing themselves orally. There will also be writing activities that will contribute to the ability to write simple, short, e.g. a holiday postcard; to give detailed personal information about an enquiry, e.g. name, nationality and to fill in a hotel registration form.

TURK103 - Turkish Language and Turkish Communication I

The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge about the features and structure of Turkish language. For this purpose, students are given information about the historical development of Turkish language by defining what language is. The functions of language are taught and students are enabled to explain the relations between language-history, language-culture. By comprehending the structure and features of Turkish language, students are expected to identify the current problems of Turkish and produce solutions to them. At the end of the course, students will be able to write a petition, resume, academic article.

TURK104 - Turkish Language and Turkish Communication II

The aim of this course is to provide students with critical reading and thinking skills by providing them with knowledge about the types of written expression and research methods and techniques. For this purpose, students are given information about genres such as essays, novels, poems, stories, etc. It is ensured that they identify and interpret the interaction between the text and genres such as movie, music, painting. In this way, they can analyze the text in terms of language and expression features and determine the reader-text relations. They can express their findings and comments with a presentation.
