Quality System and Guidelines

Quality Management System

Institutional quality studies started with the "Planning the Future of the University" meeting held in 2016. In this meeting, the mission and vision of the institution were determined and the current situation was evaluated. In order to realize the mission and vision, the institution's strategic plan was prepared and action plans and performance indicators were defined within this framework.

In February 2016, the mission, vision and future strategies of our university were determined at a meeting held in Cyprus. In 2016, SWOT analysis was completed and preliminary work on the strategic plan was carried out.

After revisions were made in terms of measurable objectives and performance indicators, the strategic plans of SHMYO were finalized in the first months of 2017. In the next stage, the harmonization of the plans with the university strategic plan was completed. In addition, the goals of the strategic plan related to internationalization were also developed in 2017.

In the interim evaluations of the strategic plans, it is assessed whether the objectives or action plans to be completed by that date have been achieved. In addition, it is also taken into account whether the goals that have been achieved can be further improved. The reasons and solutions for unachieved goals are also emphasized.
Our institution attaches importance to accreditation studies. SCAI completed the 'Pearson Assured' accreditation studies and received the accreditation certificate in June 2017.

"Train the Trainer" programs are conducted to support accreditation studies.

In university accreditation studies, 'European University Association' standards are taken into consideration. At the February 2018 meeting, the position of our institution was evaluated in terms of the quality assurance standards of "Higher Education Council of Higher Education and European Higher Education Area" and it was determined that progress was made in terms of standards.

As we are a young university, one of our primary goals is to create a solid foundation for our institutional quality assurance system.

For this reason, mission-oriented approaches are also included in quality assurance activities. Since we have departments that provide education in the field of health, activities are carried out to meet the needs of the area where our campus is located and public health.

In our institution, in addition to the basic principles of quality policy, our quality policy approach in areas such as general areas, education and research is expressed in our quality policy document.

Our institution's quality policy and revisions are available on our web page and are also discussed in interim evaluation meetings with academic units, annual evaluation and external stakeholders meetings.
