Program Specific Criteria of the Department of International Relations

  1. To provide information about diplomacy in international relations and the history of Türkiye in order to understand the relations between states in the international system and to provide the ability to interpret current events on a theoretical basis. 
  2. To develop the ability to explain the causes of current problems in international relations and to make predictions about situations that may occur in the future, based on the theories. 
  3. To acquire sufficient knowledge of the principles of international law, domestic law and the role of international organizations in the functioning of law to be able to analyze regional conflicts, inter-state or inter-governmental and inter-societal problems and to propose solutions to them, 
  4. To develop the ability to focus on regional issues in order to analyze the balances in the international system and to analyze intra-regional dynamics through knowledge of the culture, gcopolitical importance and history of the society of the region. 
  5. To understand the globalizing world, to read the relationship between economies, polities and diplomacy in order to analyze the impact of domestic polities on foreign policy and interstate relations.
