Technical trip organized by our Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department to Balıkesir

On October 27, 2022, our Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department organized a technical trip to Balıkesir within the scope of Preology and Table Olive and Olive Oil Production courses. Our trip started with a visit to Ma'adra Vineyard. The owners gave information about wine grapes and wine production within the scope of Preology course. After lunch, our team visited Ayvalık Chamber of Commerce Olive Oil Analysis Laboratory. They received information about Ayvalık Olive Oil, which has received a geographical indication, and olive oil tasting. The last stop of our trip was Özgün Zeytin. In this enterprise, our students examined the olive oil production process on site. They also examined the production of table olives in this enterprise and received information from the company officials on this subject.
