Prof. Dr. Ali Argun Karacabey was born in Ankara in 1969. After completing his primary education at Ankara Telsizler Primary School, he completed his secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College and graduated in 1987. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 1991, from the same university's Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration, master's program in 1993 and doctoral program in 1998. In 2003, he became an associate professor of Quantitative Decision Methods.

From 1992 until 2014, he worked as a research assistant, assistant professor, associate professor and professor at Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration. During this period, he served as the head of the department, assistant professor and associate professor representative in the faculty board and executive boards, Small Business and Entrepreneurship Research and Application Center director.He assumed administrative duties as director, vice dean, advisor to the rector, head of the Health, Culture and Sports Department and vice rector.

Between 2003-2008, he served as the advisor to the president of Ankara Chamber of Industry and between 2008-2012, he served as the chairman of the board of directors of Ankara University Technology Development Zone Manager Inc. In the 2012-2013 academic year, he worked at Okan University on temporary assignment and worked as vice rector.

In 2014, he resigned from Ankara University and was appointed as a professor at Okan University. In 2014, he resigned from Ankara University and was appointed as a professor at Okan University. After serving as vice rector at this university between September 2014 and June 2016, he was appointed as a professor at Altınbaş University, Department of Business Administration in July 2016. Between July 2016 and February 2019, he served as vice rector at Altınbaş University.

In February 2019, he was appointed as a professor at Istanbul Arel University, Department of Business Administration. As of March 1, 2019, he served as the acting rector of Istanbul Arel University. He was appointed as the rector of Istanbul Arel University in September 2019. He continued his duty as rector until April 2021.

In April 2021, he was appointed as a faculty member of Altınbaş University Faculty of Business Administration. He assumed the duties of Altınbaş University Graduate Education Institute director and dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. In October 2021, he was appointed as vice rector. He still continues to serve in this position.

Karacabey, who was a columnist at HaberX in the early 2000s and Dünya Newspaper between 2013-2019, has 10 books, 3 of which he is the editor, as well as academic articles and book chapters published in his field.
