The fact that more different units are being created in healthcare institutions and the increasing need for support staff as a result of the latest advancements in healthcare industry necessitates the production of Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services graduates. In healthcare sector, where effective communication with patients and their families as well as with healthcare staff is becoming increasingly important, Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services graduates are carrying out numerous important roles.
Altınbaş University Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services Programme aims to produce graduates with strong communication, analytical thinking and clinical coding skills, high understanding of medical terminology, as well as high ethical values and respect for patient privacy that keep themselves up to date with the latest developments in healthcare industry, embrace a high-quality and consistent service approach, capable of dealing properly with a crisis, efficiently using application intended for International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10), effectively communicating with patients with disabilities and patients’ families, and properly carrying out the documentary and secretarial procedures of their departments.
In this respect, what makes Altınbaş University Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services Programme different from other programmes is that we offer ICD-10 disease coding and advanced clinical coding courses as well as certificates issued to successful participants of practical courses and other specific courses (first aid, occupational health and safety, 10-finger typing techniques) to be held in contracted private and public hospitals during the semester as part of International Classification of Diseases training, also practical skills courses to improve students’ fast typing skills to be held in our student lab via BİZMED Hospital Automation System.
As the faculty of Altınbaş University Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services, we are ready to welcome the future clinical coders, medical secretaries and assistants to our programme which constantly evolves through our high quality and unique teaching approach.
