TURKISH PREPARATORY PROGRAM
Altınbaş University School of Foreign Languages Turkish Preparatory Program aims to provide students with the necessary Turkish knowledge to carry out their academic studies in their faculties. This program aims to develop speaking, writing, reading and listening comprehension skills based on the "Common European Framework of Reference for Language Levels" (CEFR), which is the common reference system for foreign languages. The modular system is applied in the Turkish Preparatory Program.
The program consists of 4 terms of 8 weeks and 4 levels (A1, A2, B1, B2).
Turkish Placement Exam
Registered students take the placement test at the beginning of the academic year and are placed in the appropriate level. The placement test measures reading, listening comprehension, speaking and writing skills. Students who score above the determined score in the placement exam take the proficiency exam. Students who pass the proficiency exam move on to their department.
Assessment and Evaluation System
In the Turkish Preparatory Program, assessment and evaluation are of two types: in-module and end-module. In-module assessment includes midterm exams, projects, assignments, portfolios and presentations. The condition for taking the final exam is to collect at least 65 points out of 100 points in the module evaluation and not to exceed the absenteeism limit.
Final exams measure reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking and writing skills. The condition for passing to the next level is to achieve at least 60% success in the final exam.
Objections regarding the exams are accepted within the first 5 working days after the exam results are announced. Students are required to submit their petitions of objection to the School Secretariat by e-mail or in person using the template provided on the website of the School of Foreign Languages. Objections exceeding this period will not be considered.
Turkish Proficiency Exam
Turkish Preparatory Program students must collect at least 60 points from the proficiency exam prepared by Altınbaş University in order to continue their education in their own faculties. The Turkish proficiency test measures reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking and writing skills.
Only students who have completed the B2 level can take the Turkish proficiency exams held at the end of the semester. The Turkish proficiency exam held at the beginning of the new academic year is open to all students regardless of their level.
Students who collect the score determined by the university in the internationally valid exams below can continue their education at their faculties, provided that they submit their scores within the pre-announced date range.
