On February 6, during the earthquake, which was centered in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces, dubbed as the "Disaster of the Century", students who arrived in the region under the coordination of Altınbaş University Dean of Students received comprehensive trainings on search and rescue and disaster management.

The students, who took an active role in the earthquake zone, received first aid training in the first stage with the instructors of the Ministry of Health and were entitled to receive their first aid certificates.

The students received their certificates from Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Argun Karacabey, Dean of Students Dr. Duygu Kotan Türkden and IBB AFAD Coordinator Rezzak Elazat at a ceremony held at the Mahmutbey Campus of the university.
