International Arbitration Virtual Court Competition
Altınbaş University Faculty of Law Moot Court Team participated in the 31st Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot Court Competition organized this year and successfully represented our University in the international competition.
The Moot Court Team established by our Faculty of Law students participated in the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Virtual Court Competition. It successfully represented our University in the international competition.
Our Moot Court Team, consisting of third and fourth year students Beyza Şara Batur, Kaan Toprak, M. Talip Durğun, Sami Özsoy and Sudenur Karabulut, was prepared for the competition by our team coaches Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlyas Gölcüklü and Research Assistant Beliz Haberdar.
Our team successfully represented our school by matching with different law faculties against teams from various countries of the world in the competition held in Vienna, Austria between March 22-28.
Our team was paired with the University of Lausanne, Hong Kong City University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and FGV Sao Paulo University Faculty of Law.
In the competition, our team was evaluated not only orally but also on the basis of the petitions they prepared. The petitions, which were written from both sides' perspectives, were evaluated by different experienced judges and both petitions of our team were found to be very successful in terms of the construction of the petition, the presentation of the claims and the use of the English language.
The team also took advantage of the opportunity to visit the city of Vienna in their free time, which was also a cultural and touristic opportunity.
Our team, which also practiced a lot during the preparation phase, gained experience in this process by participating in the 12th Istanbul Pre-Moot organized by Bilgi University between 09-11 February this year. Our team continued its preparations by gaining both experience and new knowledge in the competitions held with Istanbul Aydın University, Piri Reis University, Bilgi University and Ankara University Faculty of Law respectively.
Our team had the opportunity to watch the Istanbul Vis Pre Moot final competition organized by Istanbul University for the 4th time this year, not only as a participant but also as a viewer and observer. The final competition between the University of Mannheim and Humboldt University Faculty of Law was also very productive with the perspectives it provided to our team.
Until the competition, online preparation competitions were also held with many prestigious universities such as Bonn University, Mef University, University of Montenegro, Azerbaijan ADA University, Belgrade University Faculty of Law with the participation of very valuable referees.
2024 IISL Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition
Our team also participated in the 2024 IISL Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition held in Vienna, Austria between April 8-12, 2024. Our team consisting of Moot Team members Kaan Toprak, Merih C. Ayyar and Sudenur Karabulut successfully represented our university in this prestigious competition.
