A Hackathon Adventure - Solution Sprint 2024

Altınbaş University hosted a 24-hour hackathon. In the event, which was attended by participants from six different universities, solutions were sought for "University without Barriers".

Altınbaş University's student club, Google Developers Student Club (GDSC), organized a Hackathon titled "Solution Sprint 2024". The 24-hour event brought together students from Bahçeşehir University, Biruni University, Yeditepe University, Özyeğin University, and Sabahattin Zaim University.

The opening speech of the event, where solutions were sought for an Inclusive University, was given by Prof. Dr. Galip Cansever, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Altınbaş University. Many students and academics participated in the event.

Prof. Dr. Galip Cansever addressed the youth, stating, "The rapid changes in science and technology have made it necessary to engage in joint work and develop common policies in the field of education, as well as in economic, political, and cultural areas in the new industrial revolution. A new educational approach with different educational systems is needed to overcome these technologies. You are the generation that will create advanced technology in our country. You are the future of the country. It is you who will bring the country to a more contemporary position."

GDSC President Zeynep Aslan explained that the aim of the competition was to enable university students to focus on a problem and come up with a project as a team during a challenging 24-hour process. She stated that the challenging project topic was inclusive university life, saying, "Our students have drawn attention to the difficulties faced by disabled individuals in society and raised awareness within the scope of the project, as well as producing a new project as a team in this field."

During the Hackathon, where 45 contestants competed, teams worked to develop their projects in line with the competition concept for 24 hours, resulting in 9 projects at the end of the competition.

According to the evaluations of the jury composed of Oğuz Ata, Timur İnan, Şeyma Sarıgil, Erdinç Dal, and Tarık Kaan Koç, Cobra Team was awarded first place, Ayran Boys second place, and JSC third place.

Throughout the competition, sponsors of the event, Linqiapp and Pınar Online, did not leave the students alone, and the Nane Limon team, which has achieved first place in many hackathons, provided mentorship to the teams for the entire 24 hours.
