Our University Delegation was at APAIE

New destination expansions came to the fore in internationalization.

The delegation from Altınbaş University, led by our Rector Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan, participated in the APAIE (Asia-Pacific Association for International Education) Conference and Exhibition held in Perth, Australia from March 4th to 7th, 2024. Representing our university at the international fair were Rector Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan, Associate Professor Dr. Fulya Aksu from the Department of Internationalization and Alumni Relations, Senior Specialist in External Relations Betül Esen, and Content Coordinator for the Website, Lecturer Melek Erhan.

During the fair, the university delegation engaged in discussions with universities and stakeholders from around the world, particularly from the regions of East Asia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, to establish new agreements and collaborations, work on joint projects, and enhance existing partnerships.

In their discussions, the delegation emphasized the importance of initiating Erasmus+ projects with countries from the Asia-Pacific region such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and expanding existing projects into various fields.

Additionally, meetings were held with representatives from countries such as the United Kingdom, Hungary, Canada, and Australia to negotiate new Erasmus+ agreements and diversify existing partnerships across different faculties and departments.

Altınbaş University received significant interest at the APAIE Fair in Australia. Rector Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan delivered a presentation titled "Türkiye: A new Hub for international students," highlighting Türkiye's international visibility, educational opportunities, and collaborations. He elaborated on Altınbaş University's internationalization strategy and introduced the EWİ automation system developed at our university.

Following the conference and fair events, our university delegation visited two separate universities in Australia. The delegation visited the campus of Curtin University, where they met with a delegation led by Vice President Prof. Zxiation Zhang. Another university visit was made to Edith Cowan University.

At Edith Cowan University, discussions were held with a delegation led by Dean Prof. Daryoush Habibi of the Faculty of Engineering.

Agreements were reached with both universities to advance in areas of academic cooperation such as research and projects, student and staff exchange programs, and double degree programs.
