An Enjoyable Event with CatchJob
At the CatchJob Career Seminar event, our Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students learned how they can shape their careers and participated in an enjoyable workshop with Chef Chris Maxwell in the kitchen.
Burak Birand and Chef Chris Maxwell, co-founders of CatchJob, a job finding platform exclusively for the service sector, were at our university. First, Burak Birand explained how CatchJob works and its opportunities to our students and then a workshop was held with Chef Chris Maxwell in the kitchen.
In his speech, Burak Birand explained that they saw the problem caused by the circulation in the sector and established CatchJob as a solution to this problem. The most striking feature of the CatchJobs platform is that users can upload videos. With a video CV, candidates can introduce themselves better and employers can get to know the candidates better by seeing them. This platform, which is always free of charge for the user, also offers internship opportunities to its users.
After Burak Birand's speech, the event continued in the kitchen with a Vietnamese Sprig Roll making workshop led by Chef Chris Maxwell.
30 years in the service industry, Traveling Chef Chris Maxwell made Vietnamese Spring Roll with shrimp and beef with our students in the kitchen. Stating that Turkish cuisine has made significant contributions to the world of gastronomy, the Chef shared his experiences and suggestions with gastronomy students. The chef, who has lived in Türkiye for many years, said that he had a very enjoyable time with the students in the interview we made after the workshop.
