Distance Education

Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEM)

Since its establishment in 2016, our Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEM), has undertaken a significant role. Starting with the implementation of common courses through distance education, our efforts have expanded over the years to encompass entirely online Associate's and Master's degree programs, as well as Flipped Learning practices. Through these endeavors, UZEM plays a crucial role in our university's educational processes.

Our infrastructure, comprised of online live lectures and material sharing platforms, enabled us to swiftly take action during the sudden onset of the pandemic. Within a remarkably short period of two weeks, we organized simultaneous informative meetings and training sessions, increased system capacity, and transitioned all courses to our Distance Education platform. Our UZEM unit demonstrated the ability to swiftly and seamlessly transition to remote learning at full capacity, surpassing many other universities in this regard. This effective transformation positively contributed to the academic structure, learning methods, and internal communication, accelerating the integration of the digital world into education and fostering digitalization in education.

Our UZEM unit continues its activities in a dynamic structure where students and instructors can access their lessons regardless of location, as long as there is internet access.

Our distance education system offers an interactive platform that facilitates synchronous (live) and asynchronous (recorded) classes, sharing of assignments, surveys, announcements with students, evaluation of academic achievements through various types of assessments, and providing feedback to students. Thus, educators and students can leverage the effective tools and new dimensions of the digital world through interaction. With the Flipped Learning system, students prepare for classes by accessing materials shared by instructors before class hours, enabling them to engage in more practical activities during class time, diversifying their knowledge and enriching their experiences. During live classes, students can participate with their cameras and microphones, share their prepared presentations, and conduct project presentations individually or in groups.

To ensure the most efficient execution of this multifaceted process for all stakeholders, our UZEM unit's expert staff promptly responds to all inquiries, issues, and technical support requests, providing effective solutions to ensure user satisfaction.
