Altınbaş University Became a Member of TürkÜnib

At the general assembly of the Union of Turkic Universities of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku, Altınbaş University was accepted as a full member of TürkÜnib.

Altınbaş University was accepted as a full member of the Union of Turkic Universities (TürkÜnib), the Organization of Turkic States, at its general assembly held in Baku.

Making an evaluation after the full membership, Altınbaş University Rector Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan shared his satisfaction and said, “As Altınbaş University, we are very pleased to be accepted as a member of the Union of Turkish Universities, the leading higher education association of the Turkic World. We believe that internationalization, which is among our strategic plan goals, will further diversify with the strong cooperation we will establish with the universities of the Turkic world.”

Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan pointed out that the Organization of Turkic States has created a solid basis for the cooperation of all institutions of Turkic states in a wide range of fields from economy, transportation, tourism to health, and said, “One of the areas of cooperation in question is higher education. In this context, academic cooperation between Turkic world universities is intensifying. Very important progress is being made on issues such as the exchange of students and higher education personnel, harmonization of curricula, development of quality standards, joint research projects and recognition of programs.”

TurkUnib, which was established on August 10, 2012 to ensure cooperation in the field of higher education among the member countries of the Turkic Council, includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan and TRNC in addition to Türkiye. 

The main purpose of the Union, whose establishment process started with the Turkic Council Education Ministers' Meeting held in Cholpon-Ata on August 10, 2012, is to ensure cooperation among higher education institutions based on common history, culture and language heritage, and to raise generations with a high sense of common identity by applying modern, scientific education standards. 

Other objectives of the establishment of the Union of Turkish Universities are

- Harmonization of programs in member universities,
- Implementation of the common credit transfer system,
- Encouraging lecturer training programs,
- Implementation of student and faculty exchange programs,
- Creating a suitable basis for member universities to recognize each other's diploma equivalence,
- Capitalizing on the outstanding advantages that universities have in certain areas,
- Implementation of practical joint teaching and research programs and projects,
- Organizing symposiums, academic activities, competitions in the fields of culture, science and sports among member universities,
- Providing special scholarships for students working on Turkic studies,
- To make efforts to offer courses on our common history, civilization and literature in the universities of all member states.
