Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek, who is known for his work in the fields of public, administrative and constitutional law, came together with the students of Altınbaş University Turkish-German Law Undergraduate Program; he attended the administrative law course.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Altınbaş University Dual Degree Turkish-German Law Undergraduate Program had an important guest from the University of Cologne last week. Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek, who is known for his work in the fields of Public Law, Administrative Law and Constitutional Law, came together with our students of the Dual Degree Turkish-German Law Undergraduate Program. Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek, who attended the Administrative Law lectures, gave information about current issues in Turkey and Germany.
Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek, who was at our University as the guest of the Dual Diploma Turkish-German Law Undergraduate Program, visited the senior administration of our University with a delegation including Altınbaş University Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kâmil Yıldırım, Deputy Director of the Dual Degree Law Undergraduate Program Dr. Faculty Member Ayşegül Altınbaş, Constitutional Law Expert Prof. Dr. Sevtap Yokuş. The delegation, received by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Argun Karacabey, touched upon the achievements of the program, which has left behind its 10th anniversary, and noted that it also provides an important cooperation in the relations between the two countries.
Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek visited the Private German High School at the last stop of his program in Turkey. Answering the questions of the students about Legal Education in Germany, he gave information about the opportunities provided by the Dual Degree Undergraduate Program.
Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek, in his lectures with the students of the Dual Degree Turkish-German Law Undergraduate Program, under the main title of "Separation of Powers and the Rule of Law", he touched upon many important issues from the tension between democracy and the rule of law to the historical development of local governments.
Prof. Dr. Sevtap Yokuş, Faculty of Law Faculty Member and Constitutional Law Expert Prof. Dr. Sevtap Yokuş expressed her views on the visit and stated that Prof. Markus Ogorek, with his lectures at Altınbaş University Faculty of Law, also revealed the importance, privileged place and dimensions of the Double Degree Program carried out with the University of Cologne Faculty of Law.
Ogorek, who explained the German Legal System comparatively, reminded that the Double Diploma Program supports the bridges between the two countries beyond the cooperation between the two faculties. Sevtap Yokuş continued her speech as follows:
"In his presentation at the German High School, Prof. Ogerek perfectly conveyed the opportunities offered to students with ties to both countries through the Altınbaş-Cologne University joint program. Conversations with Prof. Ogerek developed creative ideas in the field of new possibilities, which will continue to be discussed. Prof. Ogorek presented the basic principles of law and the ideal of democracy woven with law in a refined way, filtered from the source and historical background. It was an eye-opener not only for undergraduate students but also for everyone who watched it."
