This year, the Annual Evaluation Meeting, the ninth of its kind, brought together the top management, academic, and administrative staff of our university. The main agenda of the meeting, which emphasized the importance of Research Projects, was sustainability, resilience, and education.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ali Altınbaş, mentioned in his opening speech the importance of education as the most significant brand, stating that a person will carry the label of this brand throughout their life. Ali Altınbaş pointed out the importance of Annual Evaluation Meetings in determining future actions, stating, "We must continue to work diligently to be prepared for the fluctuations occurring both globally and in our country."

Rector Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan stated that they added the titles "Sustainability and Resilience" to the university strategy this year and said, "For the sustainability of institutions, it is important that they are prepared for unforeseen conditions as well as foreseen ones. We do not approach the issue of sustainability only in relation to the European Union's Green Deal and the environment. What is really important is sustainability in education. We consider and address many sub-headings such as the sustainability of student satisfaction, the financial sustainability of the university, the sustainability of academic and administrative staff here, and sustainability in research quality."

Highlighting the steps taken in previous years towards digitalization, Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan emphasized that today the university has become a higher education institution that has established its own campus automation system, produces its own technology, and benefits external institutions. He said, "With the system we named EWI, today 14,000 students were registered without a single problem. When we go abroad to a fair today, we are not only going for international student promotion. We will also be able to market our technological products abroad."

At the meeting, Bahar Özay, the Coordinator of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network Türkiye and a member of the UNESCO Türkiye National Commission, made a presentation. Özay stated in her presentation, "The Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and the goals of the Paris Agreement, which emerged in 2015 as the most important examples of global cooperation in combating the uncertainties and multiple crises of the 21st century, have a key role for education in their realization."

Özay said, "There is a need for education that will increase the resilience of our children and young people against uncertainties and risks occurring in the world and in our country, and provide them with social and emotional skills. Universities have a great responsibility in this regard."
