The Researcher’s Diary

The Researcher’s Diary event organized by the Faculty of Business at Altınbaş University took place with the participation of Hakan Atik, the Head of the Project Implementation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Altınbaş University's Faculty of Business organized the Researcher’s Diary event where employees share their knowledge and experiences in research and teaching. For the first time, an external speaker was invited to the event series that commenced on December 27, 2022, featuring research experiences from various fields and disciplines. The seminar sheds light on researchers' daily work and provides insights into the future.

The topic of this month's meeting, moderated by Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özsoy, Dean of the Faculty of Business, was "EU Project Opportunities for Academicians," and it featured Hakan Atik, the Head of the Project Implementation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the guest speaker.

During his speech, Hakan Atik provided advice on how academicians and administrative staff can benefit from European Union projects. Giving information about the European Union funds provided to Türkiye under the scope of financial cooperation, Atik mentioned, "The most well-known in this context is the Jean Monnet Scholarship program. This scholarship, which aims to increase the number of personnel who are knowledgeable about the EU achievements that Türkiye needs in the process of accession to the European Union, has been the "Flagship" on the subject for nearly 30 years."

Discussing another program that universities can take advantage of, the Employment, Education, and Social Policy Program, Hakan Atik stated, "All activities of the program are carried out by the Ministry of Social Security and Social Policies. Through this program, education, project planning, and support for employment and social policies can be obtained."

Atik also touched upon the Renewable Youth Energy Project (Re-You), which was previously implemented under this program, stating that the total budget spent on the project was 7,500,000 Euros. Sharing sample projects realized within the Erasmus+ Program, Atik provided inspiration for the participants.

Commenting on the meeting, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özsoy stated, "Seeing previous examples through this opportunity broadened our horizons. Producing new projects, turning them into European Projects inspired by these examples will be an important step for our University."
