Current Approaches in Pediatric Dentistry

Altınbaş University held a symposium on "Current Approaches in Pediatric Dentistry" as part of its 100th-anniversary events.

Altınbaş University organized a symposium on "Current Approaches in Pediatric Dentistry" as part of its 100th-anniversary project. The event featured speakers such as Prof. Dr. Senem Selvi Kuvvetli, Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Elif Bahar Tuna İnce and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mine Koruyucu from the Department of Pedodontics at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry.

The symposium, organized by Altınbaş University Faculty of Dentistry, began with the opening speech by Prof. Dr. Figen Seymen, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Altınbaş University.

One of the speakers, Prof. Dr. Elif Bahar Tuna İnce from the Department of Pedodontics at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, provided information on minimal invasive clinical approaches that have become prominent in dentistry, similar to other medical branches.

Prof. Dr. Senem Selvi Kuvvetli, Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry, discussed pulp treatments for deciduous teeth. Kuvvetli emphasized the importance of considering factors such as the patient's age, physical and psychological development, general condition, and the stage of tooth eruption in diagnosis, treatment planning, and success criteria.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mine Koruyucu from the Department of Pedodontics at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry highlighted the frequent use of medication in the treatment of orofacial pain and infections in pediatric dentistry. She also pointed out the need for caution in medication use in children due to higher drug absorption and anatomical differences compared to adults.

At the end of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Figen Seymen, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Altınbaş University Faculty of Dentistry, presented plaques to the speakers, attended by doctoral and specialty students from universities in Istanbul, undergraduate students, independent pedodontists, and Altınbaş University students.​
