About the Opticianry Programme
Driven by an innovative, rational, and responsible approach, Altınbaş University's two-year associate's degree programme in opticianry aims to produce well-equipped opticians capable of efficiently using scientific knowledge, critical and free thinking in a constantly evolving modern world.
An optician is a technician trained in designing, verifying and fitting the ophthalmic devices (eyeglass lenses and frames, contact lenses, etc.) prescribed by an ophthalmologist or an optometrist.

• The theoretical and practical courses we offer at the university helps students develop effective management and marketing skills.

• Learning from professional faculty gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience.
• We offer our courses at the same campus that is home to Medical School, Dental School and the School of Pharmacy, which provides students with the opportunity to experience theoretical learning in hospital laboratorie0s equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
• As part of student-alumni collaboration, current students are given the opportunity to undertake internships at the companies where our graduates work.
• Students can double major in any other major across AU Vocational School of Health Services if they meet the requirements.
• Students have the opportunity to take part in Erasmus mobility activities for learning and placement.
Career
Our graduates can run an optical store, or work as a responsible manager at an optical store, or they can get hired by eyeglass lenses, frames, contact lenses manufacturers, or ophthalmic equipment retailers. They can also serve on the Board of Turkish Chamber of Opticians and Optical Manufacturers.
