Our Moot Court Team,which consisted of third and fourth year law students Beyza Şara Batur, Kaan Toprak, M. Talip Durğun, Sami Özsoy ve Sudenur Karabulut has attented this year’s 31st Williem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition. After a productive process of training session assisted by our team coaches Associate Professor İlyas Gölcüklü and Research Assistant Beliz Haberdar, our team took part on the competition.

Our team has successfully respresented our university against prestigious law schools and experienced arbitrators from all over the world in the competition which was held in Austria, Vienna between the dates 22-28 March. Our team has been matched with University of Lausanne, City University of Hong Kong, Ivan Franko National University of L’viv and FGV Sao Paulo School of Law.

Not only oral, also our team has been evaluated on their memorandums that they prepared. These two memorandums which have been prepared through the viewpoint of the both parties have been judged by the different and experienced arbitrators. As a result of these evaluations, both of our memorandums have been consired as praiseworthiness in terms of their constructions, the way that they prensented their arguements and  the usage of English.

Our team has also visited the historical and famous places of the city of Vienna and use this trip as a way to develop both culturally and and touristicly.

Our team has also participated Istanbul Bilgi University’s this year’s 12th İstanbul- Pre- Moot between the dates 9-11 February with the aims of getting more experienced. In the pre courts our team has been matched and competed against Istanbul Aydın University, Piri Reis University, Istanbul Bilgi University and Ankara University as they gained more knowledge and countiniued their journey.

Our team also had the chance to participate the final hearing of Istanbul University’s 4th Istanbul Vis Pre Moot as an audience and an observer. Final match between the Mannheim University and Humboldt University was also a success as our team gained new perspectives.

Until the actual competition our team had online hearing sessions, with the participation of lots of different valuable arbirtators, against lots of prestigious law schools such as University of Bonn, Mef University, University of Montenegro and University of Belgrade.

2024 IISL Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition

Our team has also attented 2024 IISL Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition which held between the dates 8th-12th April 2024 in Vienna, Austria.Members of our Moot Court team, Kaan Toprak, Merih C. Ayyar ve Sudenur Karabulut have successfully presented our university in this prestigious international competition.
