Vision and Mission

Vision 

The Cinema and Television Department of Altınbaş University School of Fine Arts and Design offers courses covering  the full spectrum of practices in filmmaking, including screenplay writing, directing, cinematography, editing, light & sound design and recording so as to meet the needs and expectations of today's film and television industry. Our curriculum is designed to help students develop their artistic, creative and technical skills through theoretical and applied courses offered in workshops and studio environment. The applied practices at television networks, film studios, and film sets offer students the chance to have a better insight about the industry. So, they become equipped with aesthetic and ethical values nourished by the fine examples of Turkish cinema and the world cinema as well as other visual and modern arts. Ultimately, they can create their own language of cinema using lighting, sound, editing equipment and camera while effectively improving their storytelling and visualization skills.

Mission

During their studies, film students engage in individual and groups works in filmmaking and producing for cinema and television, this includes idea generation, pre-production, production and post-production processes. In the learning process, students make a large number of short films and documentaries, and present their works as mid-term and graduation projects. As graduates that will have become experts in filmmaking, equipped with modern thinking and interpreting skills, as well as personal and social values, they can work for the technical and creative departments of film, television and multimedia companies and organizations, and develop their careers in a wide range of fields and activities.​
