Message from the Head of Department
Mechanical engineering is one of the world's oldest and most comprehensive engineering disciplines. Mechanical engineers are involved in the design, development and control of mechanical/electromechanical/thermal and manufacturing systems. Mechanical engineers can work in product and system development in a wide range of technological spectrum ranging from automotive industry to biomedical technologies, from manufacturing industry to power generation sector, from aerospace to heating/ventilation systems, from smart materials technology to industrial and home automation. Due to this diversity, mechanical engineering will be a branch of engineering that maintains its importance both nationally and internationally in the future as it is today.
Altınbaş University Department of Mechanical Engineering offers its students a flexible education program structure in which they can develop themselves in any field they want. Our program emphasizes the development of original solutions to problems, teamwork and communication skills, social responsibility, environmental awareness and ethical values. Students are offered a wide range of elective, laboratory and computer-based courses. In addition to professional knowledge, our program aims to provide our students with the basic knowledge necessary for scientific and technological research and product development.
Altınbaş University Department of Mechanical Engineering, with its young, strong and dynamic faculty, aims to educate entrepreneurial mechanical engineers who have the necessary professional knowledge and research basis in their field, who can think creatively and critically, who have engineering ethics and social responsibility awareness, who have adopted lifelong learning and self-improvement as a principle.
