Civil Engineering (Turkish)

Civil engineering is one of the oldest and most fundamental branches of engineering that has existed since the beginning of history and provides the opportunity to work in the fields of planning and designing all kinds of buildings, bridges, tunnels, highways, railways, airports, dams, ports, etc. by considering environmental control. The development of urbanization as a result of rapid population growth and industrial activities increases the need for structures in different areas day by day both in the world and in our country. In addition, if we take into account that our country is vulnerable to natural disasters such as earthquakes and landslides, we can internalize how important the need for well-equipped civil engineers is.
As Altınbaş University Civil Engineering Department, our basic principles are to share our academic knowledge and experience with our students and to enable our students to solve engineering problems with analytical thinking and synthesis skills and to increase their creativity and entrepreneurial skills by adhering to ethical values.
Our program has adopted a contemporary education approach that focuses on the basic civil engineering areas such as structure, geotechnics, transportation, hydraulics, materials, etc. and presents theory and practice as a whole. In this context, theoretical courses based on student-faculty interaction and laboratory studies where practical skills are developed constitute the basis of our civil engineering education.
The high number of elective courses in the program allows students to choose courses from engineering branches other than civil engineering or from fields such as business, economics, law, sociology. In this way, students will be able to produce solutions much more easily by seeing the interdisciplinary dimension of the problems they may encounter in business life. We aim to prepare our students for business life in the most equipped way with our compulsory internship and especially our long-term internship opportunities that last for one semester.
In addition to effective theoretical and practical learning, Altınbaş University Civil Engineering Department, which is based on research-oriented education with our academic staff carrying out domestic and international supported projects, will be happy to see you, our dear students among us.
