Message from the Head of Department
Dear Stakeholders
Altınbaş University Department of Health Management is a four-year undergraduate program that aims to train a new generation of health leaders who have a good command of national and international regulations, can follow technology, are sensitive to patient rights and ethical values, know the importance of quality in health services, and offer opportunities to work in a wide range of fields in the health system and started to admit its first students in the 2017-2018 academic year.
The pandemic experience we have experienced globally has revealed that health is not only a national issue, but also the importance of providing a quality health service with international cooperation and effective policies. In this field, the need for knowledgeable health managers in all areas of the health system has reasserted itself. As Altınbaş University, we have started to admit students to the Department of
Health Management again, considering it a social responsibility to meet the society's need for qualified health managers.
Our students who will graduate from Altınbaş University Health Management department can become Assistant Health Specialists by participating in the Ministry of Health's Assistant Health Specialist exams. They can work in departments such as Quality Management, Human Resources, Purchasing, Patient Services, Patient Rights, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality Services, Administrative Services, Strategic
Planning and Management, Accounting, Revolving Fund, Accruals by applying to the civil servant recruitment exams of the Ministry of Health or private health institutions, pharmaceutical companies, health insurance companies, medical equipment companies and can quickly advance their careers and move to management positions.
Some of the students we have graduated from the Department of Health Management have reported that they have started working in departments such as Human Resources, Patient Accounting, Quality,
Marketing in accredited hospitals. With the CO-OP (long-term internship) agreement provided by our university, some of our students have been employed before graduation. We continue to receive good news about them.
One of the advantages of our students who will start the Department of Health Management is the DMP-YANDAL opportunities provided at our university. Our department, which is located in the Faculty of
Applied Sciences, can train themselves in their areas of special interest by taking elective courses from departments such as Management Information Systems, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Jewelry Design, and can do YANDAL / DMP (Double Major).
Another opportunity of our university is that there is an Erasmus Coordinator working effectively in our university. Our students can benefit from Erasmus opportunities within the framework of agreements and study in a different European country for a semester.
The education program provided by our university is designed in accordance with the Accreditation in Education standards and is constantly developed and updated with the opinions of our students and other stakeholders. The education quality of our university has been registered by YÖK and accredited in general to cover all our programs, and next year we will start the process of special program accreditation for our Health Management program.
Our aim is for our students to be fully equipped and to find their jobs before they graduate and to achieve success that will make us proud in the future. We welcome all prospective students who aspire to be a part of the health system to our department.
