Productive Artificial Intelligence Summit

The "Productive Artificial Intelligence Summit", which was attended by many industry representatives, academics and students, was hosted by Altınbaş University at Gayrettepe Campus.

The Productive Artificial Intelligence Summit, moderated by Celal Toprak, President of the New Quest Initiative Association (YAPDER), was hosted by Altınbaş University. Many industry representatives, academics, and students attended the summit, which was opened by Ali Altınbaş, Chairman of the Altınbaş University Board of Trustees, İmam Altınbaş, Member of the Altınbaş University Board of Trustees, and Dr. Fatma Altınbaş, Advisor to the Altınbaş University Board of Trustees and Chair of the Sociology Department.

In his opening speech, Ali Altınbaş stated that the most important change today is in the field of artificial intelligence. Drawing attention to the risks and advantages of artificial intelligence being discussed everywhere in the world, Ali Altınbaş said, "Artificial intelligence is part of our lives. We should strive to be part of this change."

İmam Altınbaş emphasized the importance of being prepared for the age of artificial intelligence, saying, "These seminars are very important in creating awareness in society about this issue. Our biggest goal as a university is to lead in this field."

Fatma Altınbaş, acknowledging that the world is undergoing a serious change, said, "We also need to adapt to this. The digitized world is a reality facing us. Through our efforts, one of our most important goals is to catch up with the era and lead. We aim to shed light on researchers in this field with the projects carried out at our university's Marketing and Neuromarketing Application and Research Center, AU INOVA NeuroLab."

Associate Professor Dr. Dicle Yurdakul, a faculty member of the Altınbaş University Faculty of Business Administration and Director of the Marketing and Neuromarketing Application and Research Center AU INOVA NeuroLab, gave a presentation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence - Individual and Social Impacts. Drawing attention to the destructive effects of artificial intelligence, Dr. Dicle Yurdakul said, "In fact, the biggest destruction in the world is caused by humans. As a generation raised on Terminator movies, I believe that humans are the biggest terminators. In the future, artificial intelligence that writes its own algorithms and generates its own energy will enter our lives." However, she also pointed out the lack of legal groundwork in terms of ethics and law, stating that regulations on this issue are currently lacking. Dr. Yurdakul highlighted the problem that there is no regulation in this regard, and progress is not being made at the same pace in terms of law, justice, equality, and human rights as technology advances.

Referring to Yuval Noah Harari's book "Homo Deus," Yurdakul questioned, "Harari writes that humans are needed as soldiers and workers. But now, why would we need soldiers and workers? In many areas, automation is already in place, and artificial intelligence has already taken away the last tasks we would sacrifice. It makes videos, writes scripts, and even creates paintings in the style of Van Gogh. So, do we really need humans in the world anymore?"

Yurdakul concluded by stating that humans will elevate their creativity to the highest level through machines they invent themselves, saying, "We will need to redesign our lives."
