10 saplings for our forest martyrs from Altınbaş University

The memory of the 10 forest martyrs we lost in the forest fire in Eskişehir will be kept alive in 10 saplings planted in Altınbaş University July 15 Martyrs Forest.

Ten saplings were planted in the university's July 15 Martyrs Forest in Kemerburgaz in memory of the forest martyrs we lost in the fire tragedy that broke the hearts of all of Türkiye. In the commemoration event attended by Altınbaş University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal İbiş and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Argun Karacabey, as well as university staff and students, a pine sapling was planted for each martyr.  Prof. Dr. Cemal İbiş expressed his feelings in his speech after the planting with the following words:

"As a result of the fire that unfortunately occurred in Seyitgazi, Eskişehir on the evening of July 23rd, we learned that we had 10 martyrs as of yesterday evening. In their memory, we planted a pine tree for each of them to express the social responsibility and sensitivity of our university. Our pain is deep. We send our condolences to their families, our deepest condolences to all of them. We wish the wounded a speedy recovery. We will remember them by raising these lives and hope that such pain will never happen again."

The commemoration event also drew attention to the recent increase in forest fires across Türkiye and emphasized the importance of protecting nature and not forgetting our heroes who sacrificed their lives for this cause.
