Students' designs adorned the stands at the İstanbul Jewelry Show

İstanbul Jewelry Show, one of the world's largest jewelry fairs, opened its doors to visitors at the İstanbul Expo Center. Altınbaş University stand was presented to the visitors at the fair.

International IJS - İstanbul Jewelry Show, where companies from many countries took part, opened its doors for the 57th time. In the organization that brought together jewelry professionals, the designs of companies from many countries such as Italy, Greece, United Arab Emirates, Spain, Portugal, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Jordan met with their buyers.

Altınbaş University Chairman of the Board of Trustees İmam Altınbaş also visited the fair and made examinations. Receiving information from the students about their jewelry and jewelry designs, Altınbaş stated that as a university, they are pleased to train qualified graduates for the sector.

50 different designs at 12 stands

In the fair, where many products such as gold, silver, precious stones, watches as well as jewelry came to the forefront, Altınbaş University stand took place with 50 different designs of students and former graduates of the Department of Jewelry Design. Mert Hatipoğlu, Research Assistant at Altınbaş University Department of Jewelry Design, said, “Our fair is a fair where the pulse of the jewelry and jewelry industry beats. It gets better every year. I can say that it has started and progressed very well this year. We welcome everyone involved in our sector.”

“We meet both academic and sectoral needs”

Stating that their booths include the designs of both current and former students, Hatipoğlu said, “We want to show our prospective students the opportunities of our school and department by showing the works of our students in the past years. We want to transform prospective students from students who know nothing to a full-fledged graduate. In order for them to have a good place in our sector, we come to them in a way that will meet their academic and sectoral needs. The work you see here is the result of this understanding.”

Stating that there was intense interest in their stands on the first day of the fair and that their designs attracted attention, Hatipoğlu concluded his words as follows:

“The works created by our students within our department attract people's attention because they have designs that can both meet the needs of the sector and touch different places in an artistic sense. It causes people to visit our stands. In this sense, I can say that both the works of our students are dazzling and our teachers who prepare them are very competent.”

“We both socialize and learn”

Jewelry Design 3rd grade student Şevval Su stated that they had the opportunity to further improve themselves at the fair and said, “The fair is going well. Although it is the first day, it is a busy fair day. Our stand is also very busy. We see different products, we get to know different companies, we get to know different students. I can say that we can both socialize and learn.”
