Journalist Deniz Berktay, who closely followed the Ukraine - Russia War, talked about the past and present of Ukraine. Berktay, who gave information about the latest situation of the war, which will fill its 3rd year in February 2025, said: “The origins of Ukraine and Russia are the same. Ukraine's biggest weakness is that there is no intellectual and nationalist class.” He said.

Journalist Deniz Berktay also touched upon the stance of Donald Trump, who was re-elected as the US President recently, on this war with the following words: “Ukraine cannot find soldiers, their motivation is low. Trump represents a mass that is tired of this war. His relations with Zelenski are limiting. Trump intends to end this war.”

Stating that Ukraine's current expectation is not victory but just peace, Berktay said, “The Western world is getting tired. There are voices saying, “Enough is enough, Ukraine should come to an agreement with Russia”. There is no society in Ukraine that is willing to fight today. After January 20, with Trump's inauguration, peace terms may slowly start to be discussed.” He said.
