Support from TÜBİTAK for a Project Turning a Traditional Plant into a Cosmetic Innovation

Our university continues to contribute to innovative research in the field of cosmetics by benefiting from national project calls.

The project titled “Helichrysum stoechas subsp. barrelieri (Ten.) Nyman türünün In-vitro Biyoaktivite ve Enzim İnhibisyon Çalışmalarıyla, Cilt Bariyeri, Yenilenme ve Yaşlanma Karşıtı Etki Potansiyelinin Aydınlatılması”, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Özdemir Nath from the Faculty of Pharmacy, has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Short term Support Module.

The project aims to determine the anti-aging, skin barrier-enhancing, and regenerative potential of this plant species, which has been traditionally used in Türkiye, and to explore its potential for development into innovative products in the cosmetic industry. Lecturer Diren Ergin from our Vocational School of Health Services is also taking part in the project as a researcher. We congratulate Dr. Ebru Özdemir Nath and the research team and wish them continued success.
