Keeping Children Alive is as Close as a Donation

Altınbaş University Vocational School Operating Room Services Department students organized an important campaign in the field of social responsibility. The income obtained from the campaign was donated to LÖSEV.

Leukemia, also known as blood cancer, is a type of cancer caused by abnormal proliferation of white blood cells called white blood cells in the bone marrow and lymphatic tissues. It affects individuals of all ages and can also be seen frequently in children.

LÖSEV is one of the most important institutions operating for the treatment of children with leukemia. With the contributions of LÖSEV, many campaigns and events are organized every year to raise awareness on the subject.

Altınbaş University Vocational School Operating Room Services Department students also took part in an important donation event. Altınbaş University Faculty Member Dr. İpek Ada Alver, who is also a LÖSEV volunteer, led the event. Under the leadership of İpek Ada Alver, a LÖSEV volunteer herself, the students sold LSV Shop products at the stand they set up on December 18-19-20 and donated the proceeds to LÖSEV.

Emphasizing the importance of social awareness and donating in solidarity, İpek Ada Alver said, "As we do every year, we donated the products at the stand where LSV Shop products were offered for sale to LÖSEV.Our students, faculty members and administrative staff not only buy gifts for their loved ones but also meet their educational needs such as academic agendas, wall and desk calendars from this stand. Our aim in the LÖSEV event is to encourage donations in solidarity and to support the treatment of more children with leukemia, even if the amount of budget that each individual can donate is limited."

Explaining that students are informed about Leukemia and LÖSEV in such events organized at universities, Dr. İpek Ada Alver said. İpek Ada Alver said, "Students interact and socialize more and have the opportunity to have fun with the food made by volunteers."

Prof. Dr. İpek Ada Alver said that in this way, students developed a sense of solidarity and learned about the importance of donation campaigns. İpek Ada Alver said, "While socializing, they also raise awareness. This is mutually beneficial for both the students and the donated individuals. If we were able to touch the life of even one child and bring them to life, we are happy for those who donated."

Stating that every individual in the society can easily donate as a LÖSEV volunteer and support by organizing donation campaigns, as in this event, Ada Alver said, "As Altınbaş University Vocational School of Health Services, we are not only organizing a LÖSEV event, but also organizing other events. We try to take part in as many social volunteering projects as possible with our students, such as feeding and sheltering stray animals, combating violence against women, and helping individuals in disaster areas." and emphasized the importance of collective aid awareness and donation.
