Our university received its first international patent registration with the Interview Robot PATRON!

As Altınbaş University, we received an international patent registration from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with our work titled Interview Robot.

Our Industrial Engineering Department Master's Program graduate Gül Coruh and her thesis advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikret Korhan Turan, who was a faculty member at our university's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Industrial Engineering between 2011-2023 and is currently a faculty member at Istanbul Medeniyet University, Department of Industrial Engineering, received an international patent registration from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office). Thus, as of 2025, the first international patent registration of our university has been obtained.

Speaking about their invention, Coruh and Korhan stated that they designed the Interview Robot PATRON for both candidates and human resources (HR) professionals. They stated that the candidate interface can be used to determine candidates' priorities such as salary, bonus, overtime pay, travel frequency, training opportunities, catering, transportation, etc., while the HR professionals interface can be used for candidate profiling and the most appropriate candidate-position matching.

They also stated that with the Interview Robot PATRON, they aim to offer innovative solutions to various problems frequently encountered in human resources management. These problems include the fact that employers expect many different qualifications from candidates in terms of both social and technical aspects, the inability to easily find the right candidate for the job, the inability to quickly reach an agreement with the found candidate, the high cost of interview processes, the fact that employee satisfaction is affected by various factors such as salary, overtime pay and corporate culture, and the increase in employee turnover rate as a result of faulty recruitment.

Finally, they expressed their gratitude to Altınbaş University Research Dean's Office team and Research Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Kaygusuz and Alde Patent employees and Alde Patent Co-Founder Duygu Ekinci for their support during the international patent registration process, which took about 6 years.
