Rectorate change at Altınbaş University: Emotional moments at Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan's farewell ceremony
Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan, who has successfully served as the rector of Altınbaş University for nearly 10 years, handed over his duty to Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Argun Karacabey.
Altınbaş University bid farewell to Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan, who has been the rector for nearly 10 years, at a ceremony held yesterday. Founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees Ali Altınbaş, Chairman of the Board of Trustees İmam Altınbaş, Mehmet Altınbaş Education and Culture Foundation Board Members, academicians and many university employees attended the farewell ceremony organized by the university administration.
In his speech at the ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Trustees İmam Altınbaş emphasized that success is a team game:
“Brothers and sisters, we have all done our part to be successful together, but this is a team game. It is not possible to achieve success without the players, coaches, managers and fans of that team. No matter how good you are as a family, you cannot be successful if you don't have good coaches, good managers and fans who are committed to the team. We are lucky that we have always met good people in this process. We are a family that knows the value of people and values team spirit. Our foundation was established not with an economic expectation, but as a requirement of our responsibility towards our country and society.”
Imam Altınbaş stated that Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan made a great contribution to the academic structure and institutional development at Altınbaş University and said, “Hocam, do not consider this as a farewell. I wish you success in your state duty, but our friendship, friendship and brotherhood will continue. We are jewelers, our friendships are as valuable and permanent as chesed gold.”
In his farewell speech, Prof. Dr. Çağrı Erhan stated that both Türkiye and the university went through significant changes during the rectorate he started in 2015. Prof. Erhan said, “Sometimes we have experienced great happiness, and sometimes we have deeply shared great pain as a nation. We were shoulder to shoulder in both joy and sorrow. While completing the academic institutionalization process of our university step by step, we did not give up professionalism and solidarity in brotherhood.”
Touching on the academic development of the university, Prof. Dr. Erhan stated that Altınbaş University has successfully received many national and international accreditations, ranked among the top 5 foundation universities in Erasmus and international collaborations, achieved significant success in TEKNOFEST and ranked in URAP and Times Higher Education rankings.
Prof. Dr. Erhan stated that he has always received support during his rectorate process and said, “Our Founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. Ali Altınbaş and our Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. İmam Altınbaş have worked hard for our university to move forward for the better. Vakkas Altınbaş, Sofu Altınbaş, Hüseyin Altınbaş and Nusret Altınbaş, who serve as the President and Board Members of our Foundation, have always been with us.”
Stating that he handed over the Rectorate duty to Prof. Dr. Ali Argun Karacabey, Erhan said that he is confident that the university will reach much higher levels under the leadership of Argun Karacabey and Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler.
