Altınbaş University's evaluation after the MSÜ Exam!

Altınbaş University Education, Promotion and Guidance Services Manager Ertuğrul Tut made important evaluations on what to do and what not to do after the MSU exam.

The National Defense University Exam was held on Sunday, February 23rd. Over 600 thousand candidates participated in this exam and the results will be announced on Tuesday, March 18. During this process, it is very important for candidates to continue their YKS preparations and not to be complacent. Ertuğrul Tut, Director of Education, Promotion and Guidance Services at Altınbaş University, made important evaluations on what to do and what not to do after the MSU exam.

“Candidates who want to be placed in MSU must achieve a certain success ranking by taking the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) and Field Proficiency Test (AYT) sessions. For this reason, it is critical that candidates continue to study. The possibility of getting a negative result from the MSU exam should also be taken into consideration. In the process until YKS, this exam offers candidates the opportunity to see their deficiencies.” Tut also emphasized the importance of exam strategies.

Things to do after the exam

Ertuğrul Tut said, “If the MSÜ has been positive, this is an indication for the candidates that they are on the right track. However, the most important issue here is the accuracy of the answers candidates give to the questions they face. The exam result will help you see your subject deficiencies. Even if the expected success is not achieved, the primary goal should be not to lose motivation for YKS and to complete the missing subjects.”

“A good opportunity to measure anxiety level”

Tut also said, “Students are constantly taking mock exams. However, MSU, which is their first experience in the seriousness of ÖSYM, plays a very important role in terms of measuring their exam performance. Anxiety can have negative effects on exam performance. The MSU exam provides an important opportunity to measure the level of anxiety. If the level of anxiety is too high and negatively affects exam performance, it may be useful to get expert support.”

“Families and guidance counselors have a great duty”

Mentioning that a good exam may cause complacency in some candidates, he stated that in this case, the candidate's family and guidance counselors have a great duty. “Candidates should be reminded that the process is not over yet and there is enough time for YKS. Especially awareness should be created that AYT subjects should be studied systematically. If necessary, the candidate should be included in a study program again.” Finally, Tut reminded that there is still time for YKS; “Candidate students can make great progress by planning this period correctly. The MSU exam is very valuable for students to see the reality, reach their dreams and revise their career plans with a correct analysis.”
