About the Department
The Department of Common Courses offers all departments of our university compulsory courses in English and Turkish such as History of the Republic of Türkiye, History of Civilization, Turkish Language and Communication in Turkish and elective social science courses such as Modern Middle East, City of Empires İstanbul, Politics and Art in English.
Our courses in the fields of history, culture and language aim to develop our students' analytical reading, thinking and writing skills. The courses offered by the Department of Common Courses provide our students with the skills to analyze the basic concepts and problems of political and social history and to use Turkish correctly and effectively.
